Travel Games

One of my favorite things about family vacations were all of the games we would play while cruising along the road. Like the Alphabet Game, using only billboards, license plates, signs for stores, etc. to go through the entire alphebet. You start at A and try and make it to Z, but depending on what state your going through, it can be hard to find, Q, X, and Z. Or what about Slug Bug? Where you get a free hit at one of your siblings if you see a Volkswagen Beetle and you yell out the color of the car then punch the person closest to you. You had to be sure to yell out, “No slug bug back!” to avoid any retaliation from the receiver of your slug bug. I loved that game, “Slug Bug Yellow, No slug bug back!” One of the greatest times was when we would go passed a Volkswagen sales lot, the yelps from the back seat of our minivan was one of the few things in life I lived for! So if you find yourself on a long road trip with any family members, try and take your head phones off and try and enjoy some time to laugh with your family and actually enjoy it!
