Wineries

Michigan is known as "wine country" because they have over 40 commercial wineries. Michigan is the 8th wine producer in the United States. In the spring, wine connoisseurs can see beautiful rolling hills filled with cherry blossoms while they drive from vineyard to vineyard. In late spring, Leland has a wine festival where the locals show off their wines to the tourists.
In the summer, visitors can watch boaters and sailors on Lake Michigan and other lakes in Michigan from the vineyards.
In the fall, visitors can experience the wonderful fall colors as they taste amazing wines from different vineyards.
In the winter, you can go to Boskydel Vineyards and sample their semi-sweet wines while you purchase christmas cards and chestnuts.
At wineries such as Bel Lago, Chateau de Leelanau, Chateau Fontaine, and many others, you can taste delicious arrays of white wines and experience the beautiful views of the Leelanau Penninsula. Black State Farm has tasting rooms, a creamery, cheese making, distillery, and a luxury bed and breakfast. The ten wineries in the southwestern Lake Michigan shore region reflect Michigan's vintner history with some of the oldest wineries and vineyards as well as some of the newest.
