Marco Island

The past two times that I have traveled to Florida, I have stayed at a resort in Marco Island. We stay at the Marriott Resort and Spa and it is beautiful! They actually have just renovated it in between the two times I was there. Now the layout is even better and the stay is more comfortable. I am a big beach junky, so every time I go I usually just lay out on the beach. However, if you are into being outside on the beach but just want some activities to do, the many hotels along the beach offer several different fun beachside activities. I have seen everything from human fosse ball to jet skiing and parasailing. If you would like more information on the specific activities that you will find, I would suggest finding your hotel first and then researching what they specifically offer. Also, if you find your hotel, you can research nearby hotels and their activities.
In Marco, I have gone snorkeling and parasailing. They were both fabulous. If you don’t mind sea creatures or heights, you will absolutely love those two activities anywhere you go on Marco’s beach. The water is so clear that you can see right into it and take in all of the amazing underwater scenery. One time I dug into the sand with my toes and I found at least four star fish! Just to show you that the sea life there is very populated.
As far as dinner when I was there, the town has several little restaurants that they are known for, but we drove to Naples and ate at the hotel itself most of the days. There are good restaurants within the hotel but it is fun to get out sometimes! In Naples we love going to the Tommy Bahama Restaurant. It is a very lively atmosphere for all ages and really good food is served. It is a little pricey…but then again a lot of the restaurants you will find around that area are. The time you will have and the food you will eat is worth it though! My favorite plate there is the coconut shrimp. It is outstanding!
If you are staying in Marco, Naples is not a far drive away and it is worth it for a day or nights trip. The area is very well kept and very pretty to walk through at night. You can find everything from fine dining to golf and shops.
I really suggest planning a vacation in Marco Island. The resorts are all great and there are wonderful places to travel right around there, such as Naples, where you can find plenty of other activities.
