Sydney Opera House
One of the coolest things to see in Sydney, Australia is the Sydney Opera House. Traveler Digest says that is it is known as one of the most recognizable buildings in the world and has recently become a symbol of Sydney. If you are not looking for a hotel, but some pretty amazing scenery, the Opera House would be a great place to spend some time with your family or loved one. There are over 200,000 tours that go on each year through the building. The tours are moderately priced too. If you were looking for a hotel, this place would be wonderful to stay at! There are 1,000 rooms for guests to stay in.
Besides the tours that go on of the inside of the building, a variety of dance, theatre, and musical performances are presented year round for people to go see. There are literally over 2 million guests that the Opera House entertains each year. Don’t worry about bringing the kids to the shows here. There are several family friendly performances that are available to see!
Outside of the entertainment, the Opera House has a few restaurants and bars to go to. If you have time before or after your performance or tour, you could easily sit down for a nice cocktail, snack, or dinner. Even though the restaurants are intended to be for before and after attending the performances, they are still popular dining spots on their own. If you would like to eat somehwere outside of this, the Opera House recommends Guillaume at Bennelong for great food and entertainment.
In order to get to the Opera House, if you’re not staying there, several hotels offer shuttle services. Otherwise, you can take a bus, commuter train, or a harbor ferry. It does not sound like it would be hard to get transported to see this place and by the things I’ve read about it, it seems really worth it!
If this sounds interesting to you, I’d suggest making reservations online or over the phone before you go on your trip. The tickets sell out quite frequently because it is such a popular destination, and I wouldn’t want to hear that you didn’t get in! Make sure to also check out the discounts offered online, especially if you are planning on seeing more than one show! The trip to Australia alone would be really expensive, so any money that could be saved on attractions like this should be helpful.
